Music Fan Magazine recently had the privilege of attending Lee Brice's performance at The Venue in Lincoln. The Nashville-based country music singer and songwriter delivered a memorable show, preceded by up-and-coming artist Abbey Anderson.
Anderson set the stage with her Southern charm and spicy personality, effortlessly captivating the audience. Her performance perfectly complemented Brice's repertoire, which spanned from nostalgic odes to carefree teenage years to powerful ballads exploring life's trials.
From the moment Brice took the stage, his passion was palpable. Opening with "Soul," he showcased a groovy country-blues fusion that immediately engaged the crowd. The emotional highlight came when Brice dedicated "Boy" to his two sons, whom he lovingly referred to as "two-thirds of his heart." Our photographer, positioned just feet away, captured the raw emotion as Brice was moved to tears, reflecting on his sons' futures and his own youth.
Despite the emotional depth of his performance, Brice's stage presence exuded the energy of a man in his prime. He connected with his fans through storytelling, sharing the inspiration behind his songwriting and inviting the audience into his world.
The crowd's response was equally passionate. Fans sang joyfully to upbeat tracks and were visibly moved by Brice's more poignant numbers. The undisputed crowd favorite was "Parking Lot Party," which transformed the venue into a vibrant celebration, with hands in the air and smiles all around.
Brice's band matched his energy throughout the night. Guitarist Travis Bettis commanded both his instrument and the stage, while bassist Paul Rippee grooved effortlessly, striking poses between beats. Drummer Michael Gray proved to be a true showman, his sticks a blur as he drove the rhythm.
The concert culminated with "One of Them Girls," a fitting finale that had the female fans screaming and singing along.
Music Fan Magazine was thrilled to capture Lee Brice's raw vigor and stimulating performance in Lincoln. For country music fans, this tour is an absolute must-see event.
Smoke Meter: No smoke at all. The Venue is pretty tight on this plus the drinking made up for the lack of smoking so there you go.
Fight Meter: We were not expecting any fights, but in the middle of the concert security had to remove one intoxicated individual. Security was quick and professional, which allowed fans to quickly recover and once again re-immerse themselves back into Lee’s performance.
Sing A Long Meter: Everyone was singing along ranging from feel-good tunes to more soulful and emotive numbers. From the first note, fans were screaming for Brice which then evolved into an all-out sing-along filled with excitement and emotion.
